Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
Welcome to Tanzania! Our expert naturalist guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel, ensuring you have ample time to relax before embarking on this marvelous journey. Dinner will be served at your hotel.
Day 2: The Loveliest Lake Manyara
Start your day with a refreshing breakfast before journeying through the Maasai Steppe zone and down to the Rift Valley floor. Enter Lake Manyara National Park, known for its dense riverine forest, famed tree-climbing lions, and breathtaking views of flamingoes on its shores. Explore the hot water springs and marvel at the wonders of nature that only Lake Manyara can offer. Enjoy a picnic overlooking the Rift Valley walls and, if time allows, take a walk on the canopy for a clear view of the underwater forest and bird's-eye view. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Drive to the Central Serengeti
On a chilly morning, enjoy breakfast before driving through the Ngorongoro Highlands towards the Serengeti. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Serengeti maintain wildlife interactions while limiting human activities between them. Arrive in the Central Serengeti for an afternoon game drive, where you can witness the incredible wildlife in action. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge in the Central Serengeti.
Day 4: Uncover the Western Serengeti
Enjoy breakfast in the tranquil setting of your lodge with expansive horizons. Hop into your jeep and venture to the unique destination of the Western Serengeti. The landscape features hillsides and shrubs, providing an ideal area for wildebeest mating. The riverine forest is home to a variety of cats, offering dramatic encounters as the herds converge. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge in the Western Serengeti.
Day 5: Explore More of the Western Serengeti
The tranquil wilderness of the Western Serengeti captivates with its beauty. The Grumeti and Mbalageti Rivers are the main attractions for resident wildlife. Witness the quieter yet exhilarating crossing at the Grumeti River, which poses the first significant obstacle for the herds. The moving herds are an astonishing sight not to be missed. Day 6: Return to the Central Serengeti
From the shrubs of the Western corridor, drive into the vast open savannah grass plains adorned with acacia trees and rivers, punctuated by granite kopjes resembling Pride Rock from The Lion King. The Seronera valley serves as a predator's world and offers fantastic game-watching opportunities. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge in the Central Serengeti.
Day 7: Triumph at the Ancient Caldera
Venture from the savannah plains to the Ngorongoro Highlands, aiming for the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. Named after a Maasai term meaning "dark hole," the crater's origins stem from a millennium-old eruption. Hosting over 300 wildlife species, it's a natural marvel. Enjoy a game drive picnic at the hippo pool, then retire to Karatu for the night. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge in Karatu.
Day 8: Departure
Enjoy your farewell breakfast at the hotel before hopping into your jeep for a leisurely day. If you're curious, feel free to stop at curio shops for shopping before returning to Arusha. Cool off and head to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home.
